Irvette wins, now for Durban!

Nedbank’s Irvette van Blerk coasted to victory in the Spar Women’s 10km Challenge at Supersport Park on Saturday afternoon, crossing the finishing line in 34min 26sec, more than half a minute ahead of her nearest rival, Zimbabwean Rutendo Nyhora.

Caster says she’ll get quicker

Our world 800m champion Caster Semenya said after  her best time of the season, one minute 59.65 seconds, to finish third on her Diamond League debut on Friday night that she had hopes of going faster as she put a troubled year behind her.

Has won the most medals (9) of any code since 1992, including Josia Thugwane’s gold in 1996. It also provided the only medal (Khotso Mokoena) from the 2008 Games.
