Big defeat for waterpolo

South Africa’s men’s waterpolo players proved out of their depth when losing for the second time in as many matches at the 13th Fina World Aquatic Championships in Rome on Wednesday. The 12-1 setback to Canada will not have helped the cause of those lamenting SASCOC’s decision to not allow them to compete at last year’s Beijing Olympics.

Players vie for Rome berth

South Africa’s water polo stars will be out to impress national coach Vladimir Trninic at the men’s training camp at St John’s College in Johannesburg from June 12-14, after which the final list of 13 players to compete at the FINA World Aquatics Championships in Rome, Italy will be handed to the Swimming SA board for approval.
