SASCOC and P&G annnounce major sponsorship

Procter & Gamble (P&G) South Africa, the company behind household names such as Pampers, Always, Gillette and Pantene, on Wednesday announced its partnership with the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC).
P&G’s collaboration with SASCOC is part of its worldwide partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the next 10 years. P&G South Africa will not only support the South African Olympic Team for the London 2012 Olympic Games but will also be contributing to the development of South Africa’s next generation of champions by supporting youth sports development.
Stanislav Vecera, P&G’s Vice President for South and East Africa said: “Procter & Gamble is proud to support SASCOC and the South African Olympic Team. This collaboration is much more than a sponsorship. For P&G, it’s about bringing together our purpose of touching and improving lives and the Olympic purpose of building a better world through sport. ┬áIt is also about supporting athletes and serving moms and families as a company and through our brands.”
“We are delighted to see the strength of P&G’s commitment to the Olympic Movement, without partnerships like this our task of producing sporting champions would be that much harder,” said Tubby Reddy, CEO of SASCOC.
P&G also committed to unveil a major program in support of youth development through sport in collaboration with SASCOC.
